Our History

Situated at the peak of Saillans, Château Puy Guilhem overlooks the entire L’Isle with a magnificentpanoramic view of the entire Fronsac, Pomerol and Saint-Émilion vineyards.

After hundreds of years of settlement and changes, the Enixon family took over Château Puy Guilhem in 1995. Mr. & Mrs Enixon were so immensely attracted to the picturesque vineyard and its unique winemaking process that they made every effort to develop and grow Chateau Puy Guilhem, bringing its wines to a new height.

A decade later, their son inherited the estate and, like his parents, poured all his passion into crafting the finest wines. Under the stewardship of the Enixon family, Château Puy Guilhem regained its former glory, and its wines have received numerous accolades.

Today, in order to honor the efforts of their predecessors and the gifts of nature, the current owner of the estate has enlisted Claude Bourguignon, a renowned agronomist from Burgundy, as a soil consultant for the vineyards. The legendary figure in the wine world, Stéphane Derenoncourt, serves as the winemaker at the estate. Château Puy Guilhem, with its blend of different cultures, has entered a new chapter in its history, continuing to produce wines that astonish the palate.
